We have dispensed with thermostats and are curious about the self-regulating effect. They are, of course, already electrically prepared.

And that's why I'm asking you if your control is measured or displayed in degrees. I doubt that degrees can be found there!

Also, you wrote in the opening post that it is more or less cold in other rooms!

I see this less from the perspective that pipes could “burst,” but rather the self-created temperature gradient within your apartment. As you describe it, you have it cozy in the SW and the rest remains comparatively “cold.” I also lack a bit the idea of whether it is fun to play in comparatively cool children’s rooms.

I am inclined to assume that this behavior will backfire and you will experience a surprise based on the yearly bill. Where the “cold” rooms meet the “warm” rooms, the “warm” ones work on the “cold” surfaces; they try, in my opinion, to “heat” the cold surfaces. What a sentence construction

I am also just imagining the consequence for the upper floor residents; I wrote elsewhere that I once had such a thrifty roommate. Between the new building from 1993 and today there are worlds apart, but I assume that the effects of reduced heating behavior have not changed. Either the owners of the upper floor set the temperatures comparatively high – then part of the two-family house is permanently “cold” – or they ensure a constant base temperature of around 18° in all rooms. Either way, in my opinion, you both will – regarding flow temperature – pay a predictable additional cost.

Rhenish greetings

I also had such problems but I just informed myself on an advertising site about whether I can reduce my heating costs through better insulation and I have decided to try this insulation, and I will report the results...
