I would (or rather would have done so a long time ago) just turn off the Tecalor for half an hour. You can watch in real time what happens.

Good idea, but I will have to do that because, technically speaking, my brother-in-law is not that proficient.

What else I noticed after looking at my picture again:

I am not familiar with the app from Senec, so I have to guess a bit, but isn’t it the case that something runs continuously at around 5 kW from about 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.? The orange area looks to me like the photovoltaic generation. If that is true, it would have to be every day from about 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Then it must be something that is time-controlled.

You (he) can also "exclude" individual areas in the app by tapping at the top. And yes, the orange line is the consumption. You could also have that displayed in more detail. It works in the app down to the hour. Do as Nordanney recommended and turn off the heat pump for about 1 hour. Then track the consumption display in the app. The app updates every 5 minutes.

I suspect your brother-in-law fell for advertising promises, about 5-7 heat pumps on the roof, 6 kWh storage. They have the electricity consumption for heat pump, cooling, house consumption blah blah. The system is already too small on 21.6., autonomy 100% actually runs from March to October. The storage doesn't even cover the night consumption of 8 kWh, I don't even see a washing machine, stove, breakfast peak there.

I myself have an 8kWp on the roof and a 10kW storage in the basement, from April to September I am always autonomous and do not buy any kWh. However, I do not operate a heat pump, but at most a small air conditioner depending on need. I also see it that the system is not coordinated. However, that still does not explain the consumption of 5 kW/h over several hours. I will personally dedicate myself to the topic over the weekend. Actually, I should be able to measure the electricity the heat pump currently draws with a clamp ammeter.

I read the diagram a bit differently. But maybe I'm missing something. You don't have a continuous consumption of 5 kWh between 8:00 and 21:00. During this time you are almost 100% self-sufficient (green curve). Around 14:00 you have a power peak of about 4.5 kW (orange curve). Basically, though, I find the consumption really impressive.
