If it's just an agreement between the developer and us, I don't see any problems now.
For us, it's important now that we are prepared (hence my question) and can make an acceptable proposal.

Something else just occurred to me. Could the building insurance cause issues?
EDIT: I will just call them and explain the situation.

The developer will hardly let you move into his unfinished house. If it is a construction company, it might be different. Similar situation for us. Ground source heat pump from Bosch ordered in February 2022. So far, the appointment is set for the end of August 2022. That was not clear a week ago. What about alternatives? So other heat pump manufacturers? Some are still readily available.

Good idea! Whether there is an alternative, I will clarify tomorrow. This decision must be approved by the expert.

we are currently in a similar situation. The move-in was targeted for Oct-Nov and now it turns out that the heating company is not getting a single heat pump from any manufacturer. Although we were originally promised a delivery date in August 2022. I would be interested to know if you found a solution? My husband wants to alternatively temporarily switch to the gas heat pump. He can have this procured and installed through his company. But I am pretty sure that our general contractor will not go along with something like that. Basically, the company didn’t want to do anything in terms of partial handover at all…

Hello,

we still don’t know more.

However, we have installed a fireplace that we can use alternatively for heating.

We have set a move-in date in November. With compromises, that should be possible. We have found a solution for heating and hot water.

I would think twice about the gas heat pump. Especially if it will later require expensive conversion.

Better to look for alternatives (wood-burning stove, electric heating?). Whoever has to pay rent at the same time can heat a lot for the rent money.

As I said, at the moment everything is heading towards a compromise that theoretically makes the move-in possible.

Regards

It would be interesting for other readers if you briefly outline this solution ;)
