I personally already wave it off when someone comes to me with the indecent proposal that my house should waste a lot of space on castle-wall-thick exterior walls. One may consider me backward, but I am an analog being with zero interest in digital climate ;-) and besides that, I am also quite humorless when it comes to business. In this respect, I put a big question mark behind whether the jump from KfW55 to KfW40 is "the burner," to quote et Carmen ;-)

Somewhat generally, I would say KfW40 is, if anything, mostly a domain of prefabricated builders – possibly also because the customers of the masonry faction are more down-to-earth when it comes to construction technology and its reasonable limits.

The expectations of finding a general contractor for KfW40 (especially where the prefabricated builder sees difficulties) I would "not set too high" ;-)

Hello,
can no one say anything about the core of my question...?
Hmm, I wasn't expecting that...
If anyone still has a hint, just come forward with it. Thanks!

Mario, I have rarely read recommendations in this forum. Just go to new housing developments nearby and look around there, talk to the builders.

Langenfeld is unfortunately the "wrong" side. So far out does not make sense for our architect.

Yes, for example this one

I have also given that advice before, even if not in this thread. But that applies in general: new housing developments are like building exhibitions, at least in the solid house sector with the special focus on local suppliers. On Saturdays you have good chances to strike up conversations with their residents on the street. And nobody reacts offended if you say you like their house ;-)

I immediately expected that you wouldn’t drown in answers, the killer application in your question is "KfW40". Rotary engines only exist at Mazda, and not even for the 323 or 626. Other market participants share your passion for KfW40 far less enthusiastically; it is almost a niche product. The vast majority of builders do not strive to be recommended precisely for that reason.

And you don’t want just any supplier for a KfW40 house. Rather, you are still specifically looking for one who says "yes" where another has refused with reasons. You could also have asked who between Rostock and Schwerin knows plasterers specialized in Lüftlmalerei ;-)

Let's drop the drama. For Kfw 40 you need a bit better insulation, better glass. You only get thick walls if you insist on monolithic construction, all other wall structures have no problem with that. The energy consultant calculates the insulation thickness and the builder then sticks 20cm of insulation on the wall instead of 16cm. Don't stylize that as a mental feat, anyone can implement that.
