We have two big dogs and horses, live in the countryside and want 3 children and have a large family with children who often visit. Now, of course, they constantly play outside no matter the weather, the dogs are sprayed off almost daily in winter and sometimes even showered, and coming back dirty from the stable is common (right now I change in the garage). When I imagine that depending on the season 2-5 times a week, several times a day, dirty feet run straight through the house to the basement, I wish for it to be different if I have the option. We would prefer to avoid an outside staircase if possible. We don't like its look, we could only put it on the west side of the house next to the terrace, and in terms of safety, I simply don't feel comfortable with it. For us personally, there are so many reasons for this option and that's why it is important to us.

I suspect that was a mistake in the last draft; I can't imagine it any other way. That's why I didn't take photos of the plans but instead uploaded them like this for now. It doesn't make much difference for the assessment.

The budget should be roughly okay (+/- as I said). A lot will be done by ourselves. - Roofer - Floor layer - Plumber - Painter - Glazier - Window fitter - Carpenter - Electrician So there are quite a few trades that we can almost completely cover ourselves and through our families and close friends. And if it ends up costing a bit more, that's how it is; if less, we'll be happy. The amount does not include surveying (already done), planning costs, authorities, etc. I already explained why the separate staircase. That five people can fit downstairs based on the floor area is certainly possible. But why shouldn't we realize our wishes if we can? Large and open rooms are important to us; that's what we like. When we are old and the children have moved out, in 30 years we can still consider whether to separate the upper floor with an external staircase and, for example, rent it out. Since the upper floors might mirror or change based on the stairwell and air space, it doesn't make sense to consider the upper floor right now if the ground floor still doesn't fit. Or why do you see it differently? Then I can of course gladly post the upper floor as well. Best regards

We have already spent a lot of money on it and personally and technically he is really top! We can very well imagine continuing the construction with him and know of other houses where that worked out well. But apparently interior architecture is not necessarily his forte, as it seems to me...
The floor plan really takes our ideas into account very well in terms of the available space. It just lacks flare and maybe also a bit more logic behind how to combine function with flair, so to speak. I just have no more ideas and thought maybe one of you might. Best regards

Then stack the stairs by rotating the one to the upper floor by 90 degrees. The rooms are not spacious; some of them are oversized.

Sorry, I still don't understand why you have to go dirty into the basement. Are the dogs showered there and the riding gear stored? I also ride and come home all filthy. In the worst case, I just change right at the front door. That's why I wouldn't specifically place the stairs in a certain position. Maybe better a WC with a shower right at the entrance? As it is currently planned, you have to go through the whole hallway to get to the basement stairs, and that spreads a lot of dirt.
