Hello forum,

we are now planning a new kitchen with Ikea as well.
One row 260cm, no upper cabinets
One block (fridge, oven, pantry cabinet)
An island 160x100 with induction cooktop.
Appliances not from Ikea.

Now my questions:

What load can I reasonably put on the feet under the cabinets?
Can I put a 3 cm thick granite slab on top or do you think that is too heavy?

I would also take the Ikea quartz slab, but there is no flush cutout and I can’t use the drawer under the cooktop anymore.

Another question about the island,
I clad it on the left and right with the end panels, but still there is a gap in the middle where the panels meet.
Has anyone else solved that? Without it looking like the island consists of two cabinets pushed together?

Regards

Max. load per leg: 125 kg

So per cabinet 500 kg. On an 80 cm wide base cabinet, the board should weigh about 40 kg, so no problem.

Unfortunately, there are no wider side panels than 60 cm, probably not with the Faktum successor either. I would maybe install a custom-made board in a contrasting color, as you can get from companies like beptum.

Hello,
thanks for the quick feedback.
Then I don’t have any problems with the granite slabs.
The slabs from betum are also relatively expensive .
I had also considered having the cheeks made from the same granite.

It would be advantageous to glue on a 0.8 mm laminate sheet.

An MDF board is out of the question. Could also be glued.
