hello
we received an offer today from the gas and water company that installed our heating system + ventilation system for a maintenance contract. it concerns the annual inspection of the gas heating and ventilation system. an inspection of the sacrificial anode is included, but no replacement. is the inspection of the gas heating strictly mandatory? what advantages do I have here with an essentially new system? the chimney sweep also comes every 2 years, although in case of defects he naturally calls the installer.
what is the benefit of an inspection of the ventilation system?! it runs 24/7 at level 2 of 3 (40 watts). as a mechanical engineer I obviously know that continuously rotating parts theoretically last forever (no load changes). i replace the filters myself.
the plumbing company wants 185€ gross/year for both. in my opinion, every 2 years should be sufficient for the first years (first appointment 1 month before the end of the warranty). what do you pay for this maintenance?! do you do it annually? the installer makes sense because he installs this type of system more often and knows the devices and possibly stocks frequent spare parts.
