Garden fence: on which side are the fence posts?

we will buy the garden fence together with our neighbors for our new building and have it installed on the boundary.

We will have a double rod panel fence installed.

The fence panel will be placed exactly on the boundary.

What are the advantages and disadvantages if the fence posts are on our side or on the neighbor's side?

The difference is about 6cm. So irrelevant.

Disadvantage: doesn’t look as clean. With your arrangement, more loss of space (which, as the previous speaker already said, is limited). Advantage: you can possibly attach something else to the posts.

Posts on "my" side at least give me the feeling that it is "my" fence and I am showing my neighbor the boundary. I would prefer that.
