Then just consider good insulation and a frost-proof water connection. The sink is rather unproblematic. I wouldn't install a heavy-duty heating system in the garage just for a sink. However, if you need your garage as a retreat from your wife/kids, then I would line everything nicely with velvet and silk ;)

Hello,

I think you’re overcomplicating things when it comes to the water. Lay the cold water pipe frost-free into the garage and use an instant water heater there for the hot water. That’s more than enough for the few times you need it. For heating, you could also consider infrared panels. Underfloor heating in the garage/workshop would be too slow for me until it gets noticeably warmer. I wouldn’t find it necessary to keep it running continuously either. But it depends on how often you work here.

Once the building permit is approved, please reduce the number of purlins. There are definitely too many. With a photovoltaic system, a sandwich roof can easily span another 2.20m to 2.50m, depending on the core thickness. There is still optimization potential ;)

I would simply get a split air conditioner. It can then also cool in the summer (and dehumidify during the transitional seasons). What I find interesting is the question of a specific model that regulates a temperature range (15-25°C). So basically allows for an adjustable upper and lower hysteresis. That way you would have all-year-round suitable climate control and wouldn’t waste too much electricity senselessly. Maybe knows a specific model?

Thank you, very good ideas. I had also already considered the climate thing, since it is practically an air heat pump. Especially since an 18-20kWh solar system is supposed to be installed there, then there would usually be enough electricity available. My thought is also possibly a later repurposing, meaning the garage becomes a workshop and the workshop becomes a hobby room, party room, or similar, then everything should be prepared so that you don't have to tear everything up again, especially so that it is not cold on the floor. Underfloor heating was an idea. At least insulation against the ground must be installed so that when heating, it does not feel cold radiating from the floor. In the house we have a slab -> insulation + heating + screed 6.5 cm. That is quite complex and I also think too much, but otherwise the only thing I can think of is to put the insulation under the slab.

I am also with Tolentino and the others on this. A split AC (which is a heat pump, just cheaper to purchase) would, in my opinion, be the first choice here. This way you can react quickly and have the desired temperatures within about 30-60 minutes (depending on power and size). The underfloor heating would be far too slow, but I would still insulate the floor.

The water pipe the same. Make frost-free and if necessary equip with trace heating. Automating it would also be fine with me. That is not a problem nowadays and does not cost a fortune either.

A desired temperature range and other parameters can easily be realized with modern in-house controls from Daikin, Mitsubishi and co. Together with further networking and e.g. Google Calendar etc., even more can be accomplished.

Thank you, the split air conditioner is almost decided. Now I have a question about the floor slabs. I would like to pour 2 floor slabs. First the "lower" one which overlaps with the "upper" one by about 1m. I would create the connection with steel reinforcement. (2 floor slabs because I want to achieve a height difference of 30cm.) Is concrete with steel fibers sufficient for the floor slabs or are proper steel mesh reinforcements necessary? It is not a single-family house, after all. Does anyone have experience with this? Thickness 15-20cm. (I always prefer a bit more)
