Hello everyone,
I'm new here and I'll get straight to the point. I have a little issue that's been bothering me a bit because I want to do everything correctly.
We built a house at the end of last year and included a 6x9 m garage in the building application for possible future use (retrofitting).
Now, as it goes, prices, craftsmen, and everything related have gone much, much higher, even my contractor can no longer hold the price he originally quoted for the garage, understandably. So I thought, since I basically got the building application approved for the garage back then, could I just put up a carport of similar size and clad it as well as install a gate without any problems with the building authority? Or do I still have to go to the building authority again and get a permit for that? The volume is basically the same as well as the size specifications, only difference being that it won’t be masonry but built in timber frame construction?
Unfortunately, I am totally inexperienced in this matter and no matter whom I ask, I always get very different answers.
