As I said - the aspect passed me by. So far in my life, only once were a pair of shoes stolen from my door and a bicycle that I didn’t lock up. I am glad that I don’t have to live in fear and see my belongings at risk - even if that may be naive.

That may well be the case; you should pay attention to that in the description. In our case, the door is truly solid (I saw the cross-section when cutting out the space for the lock), and then it has a kind of "veneer" on the outside and inside made from panels similar to those used for facade cladding. Real wood on the outside would not have appealed to me, since it would have to be painted or stained, and I don’t like warm wood tones. These veneer panels were available in a huge variety, and we chose a gray wood imitation, matching the facade. Very low maintenance and scratch-resistant, and never needs treating again.

We paid 6000 without installation and with the side panel. Installation was another 500 euros extra.

Thank you for all the information! I think that given the price differences, we will choose a plastic door and mainly focus on the security aspects. If there is no problem with insulation, etc., I would prefer not to spend that much money on a door... And we also need 2 doors because we have an entrance to the office area at the back. Both doors are single-leaf with sidelights on both sides. The color will probably be anthracite or white.

If you want doors with two side panels, I recommend doors made of aluminum profiles rather than PVC profiles for stability reasons. The sash is hinged to the post with two side panels and not to the frame (directly to the masonry). If the sun shines fully on the door, I would also choose white over anthracite. White is more stable under the same sunlight exposure.
