At Fuhr, our lock manufacturer, there is also the transponder variant, comparable to keyless entry in electric cars (Smart Touch). You just need to approach, and the lock opens. We had considered it but discarded the idea because you have to carry the transponder around, and anyone who has it can get in. Additionally, a different radio control would have been necessary than for the fingerprint scanner and remote control, both of which then would not have been possible. And I did not want to give up the fingerprint scanner.

But it is a myth that the radio button story is extremely secure - this also works with the rolling code in cars and you know how easily such things can be hacked...

Really very interesting - even though I am still very undecided. I can definitely imagine a combination of a "normal" key and an automatically locking lock, which in turn preferably mechanical rather than motor-driven.

There is also this lock available semi-automatically, meaning motor-driven closing, mechanically opening (or something like that); you would have to check if interested (Autotronic, the fully motorized one is multitronic). Regarding security, you can also find information on the manufacturer's website, where it is actually explained quite well. The remote key is not comparable to a car remote key, which is relatively easy to crack by intercepting and copying the radio signal. However, this is not possible with Rolling Code, as no signal can be used twice. Please read up on the details yourself if interested; I am not very tech-savvy but found it understandable. The fingerprint scanner is similar; it does not scan the surface. Absolutely not comparable to these pseudo fingerprint scanners on phones.

You are wrong - [Wechselcode] has long been standard in cars.

Since I

Especially because I come from the IT field, mechanical security is very important to me.
