If there is a glass panel next to it, I would rather install a chipboard there during the construction period. However, if the windows are coming in all around, the worst is already over.

Our door (also with glass included) was installed completely right away. It was quite well protected, and where the tape was too thin for us, we put painter's tape over it. We now have the screed in. So far, we haven't seen any damage.
