So far, I haven't come up with anything really convincing, so all I have left is a pathetic attempt. The figure of the Boanlkramer is only incompletely understood without "basic knowledge" of the Herrgott's conception among the Bavarian-speaking peoples; a mere interpretation of him as just another name for the Grim Reaper wouldn't do him complete justice. When the Herrgott calls one of His own to Him, it is the Boanlkramer's (Boan = bones) task to announce this to the person concerned and invite them to be taken along. Like a court bailiff who brings a witness from the waiting area in the hallway into the courtroom, the Boanlkramer is a purely executive servant in this role, and delivering the divine order is unpleasant for him. He has no discretion, but his reliability has two weak points (namely card playing and cherry schnapps). So if it is determined for someone, then the Boanlkramer will certainly come – however, concerning the predictability of his appearance, he can be lumped in with his colleagues at DHL & Co. ;-)
A start of construction under the condition of a death is thus a calculation made without the host, hence my remark. The very elderly live longer – unfortunately especially those who, in relation to the Boanlkramer, are already anxiously sitting on packed suitcases.
