Whether a builder now has time once or five times a week is completely irrelevant as long as he has no expertise, as is the case with me.
That is true. That is why the expert is sometimes a good and reassuring solution. It already helped me that I had several years of professional contact with craftsmen from all trades of the construction industry and gained insight into their training, processes, and commercial handling. During this time, I also developed a great respect for the companies and an understanding of what really matters in selection: enthusiasm for their own field, good management of employees, and a local presence with a good reputation on site. This is far more valuable than the lowest bid price – and then you can also trust it and do not need a building expert who partly relativizes the cost advantages again.
Who performs the construction work is more important than at what price. And in the end, the house will be significantly better, nerves remain spared, hidden costs do not appear, and in the final accounting, you were probably not even more expensive.
