Or simply choose a reputable provider...

Even reputable ones make mistakes. And four eyes - site manager BU and external site manager - see more than two. For example, we have a very good provider, yet I still use an external construction supervisor.

we had a reputable provider and an expert. a) the provider suggested it himself. Of course, he is not the one who supervises the craftsmen strictly and he has an external party who checks whether his quality standards are being met b) friendly craftsmen advised it. You can see on the construction sites whether an expert is present or not. It is an investment in quality.

The client support like or is probably not standard either. For the average client, the expert is correspondingly less obsolete :)

At our first construction project, I had significantly less time, the dotcom bubble had burst, and as a result, I lost my job three times within five months during the year of construction 3. Consequently, the constant job search took priority. Nevertheless, there was still enough time to visit the construction site 2-3 times a week. If a client is uncertain or has too high a logistical effort for visiting the construction site, an expert can provide a reassuring solution. It is an option, not a "must".

I work in a crisis-proof job, a hospital :-) A bit less money than a controller, but rock-solid, unless a bomb goes off :-)

But about the external construction supervisor. Whether an owner has time once or five times a week is totally irrelevant as long as he has no expertise, as is the case with me. I can drive by, take a look, and even if it is executed incorrectly, drive home :-)
