Hello,
we want to build a bungalow suitable for elderly people for our parents. Our architect has already drawn a second draft, but we are still not really happy with it. More on that later.

House design
Planning by:
-Architect
What do you particularly like? Why? -
What do you not like? The floor space of 120 sqm is actually too small. Especially the living room with the sofa in the room is not nice and takes up a lot of space.
Personal price limit for the house, incl. equipment: initially irrelevant
Preferred heating technology: heat pump
Why is the design the way it is now? e.g.
Second draft from the architect
What is the most important/basic question about the floor plan summarized in 130 characters?
A bungalow with double garage is desired. Separate kitchen with sufficient workspace, small pantry. Living room and dining room. An extra room for crafting / ironing. Or one that could later be used as a bedroom for a caregiver. Bathroom which is barrier-free and has a bathtub. (The bathtub does not need to be barrier-free, only shower, toilet and washbasin.) My parents find it important to have a terrace facing east to enjoy the morning sun at breakfast; natural shade through the house at noon and evening would be great.
I have attached the site plan and the current floor plan.
What ideas do you have to optimize the house? I have also considered partly integrating the garage into the house to possibly gain more space. Or in plan two, placing the kitchen crosswise, moving the living room upwards. Then there would be a bit more space downstairs, the question is only what to do with the space. Also, the pantry would then not be integrated.
