Therefore, when considering the house size, it's better to plan for a proper children's bathroom

I would at least always prefer that. Children also don’t necessarily want to use the toilet out of shame while a parent is showering or vice versa, showering when someone else is on the toilet...

A kids' bathroom is certainly nice to have if the daily rhythm of parents and children is pretty much the same and, for example, everyone always showers in the morning and all get up at roughly the same time. If it's different and you can manage bathroom usage well, it's money thrown away. I was initially always in favor of a kids' bathroom. But I can also understand my wife, who absolutely doesn't want to keep 2 bathrooms and a guest WC clean... On top of that, a kids' bathroom is no longer used once the kids have moved out. In my opinion, parents are allowed to be a bit selfish sometimes...

Wow, already so many responses.

Thank you very much!

Many points you raised have either been accepted by us as is:

- only one bathroom on the upper floor, which is shared. The bathroom on the ground floor should really only serve as an emergency option
- size and furnishing of the children's rooms we are sure about, which is why there is no furniture in them.

or have also been classified as critical:

- fireplace adjacent to the pantry. However, the room will rather become a storage room due to the size of the kitchen and a separate storage room in the basement
- size of the bedroom, especially considering the size of the adjacent rooms.
- long way to the kitchen (however, from our current situation at least, this is not disturbing for us at the moment)

Since we haven't come up with anything better after a long time of rearranging, we will go to a professional with our ideas. I will report what comes out of it

What I will never understand, by the way, is why so many men think cleaning the bathroom is women’s work. When reading kicker and pooping, I gladly go to a toilet where no nearby tooth brushers disturb me.

Regarding the OP’s actual question (about opinions on the plans), I don’t see anything ready for discussion yet: in my eyes, this is not even a draft, nor a preliminary draft, but first and foremost only a (still, compared to what others have already seen, less grim) study regarding the use of the drawing program. From this, I also completely see the discrepancy between at best average living quality and above-average stated living area explained. Keep practicing, then it will become something – but at this stage I don’t think it’s worth a qualified comment.
