Of course, no hard feelings. Thick-skinned people are never finicky. After your confession of liking my humor, I allowed myself the logical conclusion that you have been following my posts here for a while. That, in turn, would hardly be possible without anticipating that such a draft of mine would fail with the drums and trumpets of an entire military band festival. However, to provoke my humor alone, I would find that a bit too much of an honor, despite all self-conceit. I’m happy to be an entertaining advisor. But it has also been and still is seriously meant on my part that the only gratitude that pleases me for my advice is when it is useless (of course not synonymous with “followed,” because as a Rhinelander, I love pluralism, i.e., EVERY single opinion—even if it’s mine alone—is boring). However, I am (still ?) convinced that a Villa Kuntergrau belongs in an architectural-philosophical discussion, but not in the neighborhood of white-anthracite replacement villas or similar uniformities. I prefer to side with Brandt and Bahr (“change through rapprochement”), and the latter is certainly not a meteorite impact. I also see the principle of appropriateness as applying to the discourse of the various architectural styles. So don’t throw your house as a homage to Molotov into your street ;-)
