Furnishing options with and without a play corner.

Basically really nice. Only it will most likely not work. From 1 to 2 years old, the little ones have a lot of fun dragging all sorts of stuff to your feet. Everything must of course be accepted with much gratitude. The toys lie scattered all over the entire place.
From 2 to 3 it slowly changes, but then balance bikes and the like are all the rage. So everything that is big, fast, and annoying. They usually still play right in front of the parents' feet. And from 3 on, you can banish them to their rooms to play. There is enough understanding then that you can express the wish to keep the toys in the children's room. Possibly a playroom, that would be more practical and later you would have a guest room/laundry room left over.
: What the OP meant by kids in the laundry room: Especially when they are small, you like to run to them more often at night to put the pacifier back in, give the bottle, or simply stroke their heads. Always going up and down the stairs takes a huge toll. Hence the idea to use the laundry room as a temporary bedroom for the youngest.
