I would make the window smaller, move the toilet to the right side of the plan, move the bathtub further up in the plan, and then have space for a nice open shower. I wouldn’t put up with this small shower with a necessary door just because of some kind of symmetry.

We have thought about that too. However, you would need a separate drain pipe for the toilet because otherwise the slope would be too shallow. Since the house is, so to speak, "characteristic of the local scene" due to its location, the exterior appearance is also important to us.

So I would rather design my bathroom optimally, considering that I plan to spend time there daily for the next 35 years, than imagine my house is a defining feature of the local scene and therefore must have a certain design from the outside. I can assure you that after just a few months you will rarely look at your house from the outside and pause in awe. That fades faster than you think. But you use your bathroom daily and get annoyed.

Okay. Thanks for the tip. But of course, you shouldn’t read too much into it now. For example, I rarely stand respectfully in front of either houses or toilets (and the toilet doesn’t manage that on the other hand either).

But I do understand the point.

Certainly not. But you might get annoyed if you have to clean the shower door every day, even though it would work without a door.

That is also possible without moving the WC.
