Could you please explain this in more detail?

I find this general statement very peculiar.

I would then also like this to be explained in a bit more detail.

for what?

especially you, as a mediator, should know the reasons, right? Or don’t you have a customer base from the public sector with fixed-term contracts?

Well, take the scientific field, for example universities etc. Most of the institutes located there finance themselves to a small extent through internal funds that are available for permanent contracts, and to a much larger extent through third-party funds. Positions are then allocated to these in a subject-related manner, and if a project ends, the position essentially disappears as well, unless new funds have been acquired.

I was at an institute with more than 80 employees, of whom not even 10 were permanently employed. Among them was, for example, my group leader who at 61 years old was still on fixed-term contracts, and that is (unfortunately) not uncommon in this field. This is actually only topped by doctoral positions, where there are institute directors who recruit a larger part of the team from doctoral candidates who, in the worst case, have to finish their dissertation on unemployment benefits.

It is absolutely not uncommon, and the legal requirements "enable" it to a certain extent, unless one explicitly files a lawsuit and thus has the existence of a "chain contract" determined and forces a permanent position.

Of course I do, but it is not confirmed that it is exploited excessively, nor is it known to me that this practice is only allowed in the public sector, not to mention that it is questionable whether it is even permitted and is not rather handled through trickery.

I also wonder how you know that aero has been experiencing this for years.
