Honestly, I find the matter more than clear. The arguments presented here exactly address why and how this price increase now fully takes effect. Many parameters can be contractually fixed in advance, such as the duration of the price commitment, what constitutes a delay and what does not, how high the increase is after the price commitment, etc.

There is nothing left to discuss unless the contractor approaches you out of goodwill.

The clause states that the price increase does not apply if the delay is caused by justifiable circumstances attributable to the client. That sounds as if the construction company could delay everything and thus enforce the price increase. I find that quite audacious.

Why should the contract be in your favor if you have not reviewed and had it adjusted? The contracts are basically watertight and have been signed dozens if not hundreds of times in this way.

I don't think that clauses should only be in favor of one party.

You also thought that you would only pay extra for the period after the fixed price. What applies is what you signed, regardless of whether it is disadvantageous or not.

And why not? Freedom of contract applies (as long as mandatory law is not violated)….
