Per household? Seems strange to me, compared to the Hartz4 rate

The average household size in Germany is 2.0 persons. The Hartz IV rate is based on the average consumption of the bottom 20% of multi-person households (roughly, in reality it is a bit more complicated) minus alcohol and tobacco.

I beg you earnestly, if you are not interested in the topic, spare me your comments. Surely you have better things to do with your time than to accuse me of some nonsense here. Likewise, I do not want to waste my time reading your nonsense. My next statement on this topic will no longer be so friendly...

Furniture and clothing is also a topic I deliberately leave out. Simply because we both have a full wardrobe. So, if you have to buy something, I would budget 5-10€ monthly. Realistically, we do not need more. The same applies to shoes. And we have also always bought furniture from Ikea in such a "universal" way that it can be used in any room. So the essentials are covered (especially since we are moving out of a 110sqm apartment) and family always helps in the process. Whether you need a new wardrobe, a dining table, or garden furniture ... we definitely don’t have to spend a cent (unless we have special wishes, which are rarely if ever the case)

180,000€ should be easily achievable for you as long as you are not in your late 40s

Don't let this drive you crazy.

But also plan for a term life insurance for both of you.

Best regards

this household budget discussion won't get you any further on the crucial point either.

Have you called any brokers today or approached the other banks in your town?

I say what I think is right. How about wanting children?
