: With the food "for work" included? We pre-cooked and packed it. With two people having three meals a day each (so six meals/day) we spent about 350€. Well, I eat a lot, maybe we included the toddler in that... But I consider 200€ highly unrealistic for two people.

We have kept records every month for a year, spending between €220-260 for groceries + drugstore items for two people. And we buy whatever we feel like, not just the cheapest. Even Hello Fresh once a month is included, which makes for the €250, €260 months....
So it is possible after all

we (2 adults + 2 toddlers)

500 € drugstore and groceries (including drinks). BUT without my meals at work (about 50 € extra) + eating on the go at various festivals and visiting restaurants

Also remember that you have to pay real estate transfer tax on the house. The notary also wants to get paid. That will be debited from your account.

I would like to have the instructions for that.

With 180 meals per month + hygiene and cleaning products, even with frugal shopping at the discount store, we had no chance to get much lower. You could have saved 20€ on wine.

And since we can and like to cook, things like pre-cooking weekly offers for several days, etc. were also included.

If I deduct wine and hygiene/cleaning from our costs, I end up at 1.60 per meal per month. Now you say without sacrifice AND with Hello Fresh you make it one third cheaper again.

So sorry to follow up again. Or contributed home-grown produce?

The original poster will now track their own consumption... but there are some fantastic low numbers circulating here. I advise caution: not everyone can do that. For example, I cannot.

Ok, so we just added up everything we spent at the supermarket this month: Exactly 304€! Although I heard "Well, we really spent a lot this month." Besides groceries, the bill also included things like a sports water bottle (20€), a backpack (15€), and charcoal for neighbors (5€). These are things you don't buy every month. And about our eating habits: We eat a "small" breakfast daily (a sandwich with cold cuts and Nutella (not together)) and in the evening once a hearty meal with meat and a side dish. On weekends, we also have a small lunch. So I can't say we're starving.
