Roughly the breakdown:

about 2x 80 euros grocery shopping in the supermarket
about 1x 30 euros in DM
about 1x 20 euros fresh fruit/vegetables from the retailer

Water is included with the groceries, we need relatively little since we both get free water at the office.
In addition, about 10 euros per person/month for the occasional something from the canteen, and sometimes a pizza or similar for about 20 euros in total.

That amounts to roughly 230 euros.

Occasionally 1x Hello Fresh for 42 euros, then it's 270,
but we are also often invited by the parents-in-law (3-4 times), I admit. That’s enough for the next day as well.

Somehow I can't figure this out. One person eats 1 bread roll in the morning and then again in the evening.

The others buy something for 80€ every 14 days.

So some seem to have enough fuel with 1.3 meals, the others buy amounts that I would have eaten alone from the fridge after a week. With 80€, even if I only buy offers from the discount store, I can prepare about 45 meals. So eaten up after one week for two people. Nothing gets thrown away either. Mysterious, the whole thing...

But well, if I only eat a bread roll in the morning and then a proper meal in the evening, after six weeks I’m the "Bread for the World model." I eat three bread rolls in the morning, or two good slices, or something like that. And then I'm hungry again at 12. And I'm not even fat... and then times two.

Maybe it’s because of us.

Being able to get through six days eating at the in-laws obviously makes a difference. I would immediately need almost 20 euros more.

By the way, Hartz 4 provides €145.20 per month for food for a single person (excluding drugstore items and such, only food and drinks). How realistic that is is repeatedly and extensively debated, just to bring in a well-known benchmark here.

That is completely sufficient, even including the fresh counter at Edeka.

Rump steak every day is of course not possible.

But that drifts away from the topic.

What about things like clothing, furniture, etc...? That shouldn't be overlooked either.

According to the Federal Statistical Office, the expenses per household for food, beverages, and tobacco products vary between 149 and 462 euros per month depending on the income class. Where 149 euros are for the income group under 900 euros per month and 462 euros for the income group over 5000 euros per month.
