Yes, thanks again for the hint! I think, at the moment, we are still looking a bit too generally. That might be okay for now (exploration phase aka "we want to build or buy a house sometime") and not wrong for getting an overview, but it is still quite far from active searching.
I am still a bit more cautious there, among other things because one of these articles was about the 20th anniversary of a new development area that still hasn't been implemented, which was mainly delayed by citizen protests and lawsuits... but yes, in principle there seem to be protests in some form in most areas and many of them are then implemented within a foreseeable time.
if there is an article with: "Citizens protest against planned new development area" I would count that as a hit and call the municipality immediately
