I quote from the newspaper article.
For this reason, it is possible in many places to set up a so-called manager’s apartment on company premises - but only as an exception, because normally residential buildings are not allowed in purely commercial areas for noise protection reasons. Houses with manager’s apartments are also located in the Bliedersdorf commercial area “Postmoor Süd.” But where are the associated company halls?
“It is a nuisance,” explains an insider who has been dealing with this “phenomenon” for some time: On areas that are exclusively approved for commercial use according to development plans, one attractive little house after another is being built. But a building that in any way looks like a commercial operation cannot be found anywhere. “The advantage is obvious,” says the expert: The building land for companies, often subsidized by municipalities, is significantly cheaper than a building plot in a residential area. It is the same in Bliedersdorf: An inquiry by WOCHENBLATT with the building official of Horneburg, Roger Courtault, revealed that the square meter in the commercial area should cost around 40 euros. A few hundred meters further in the new development area it should be around 120 euros according to Courtault.
That’s exactly how it looks in reality. In the commercial area, one attractive little house after another is being built for a third of the land price. Apparently, it has already become known somehow. Well, I did not make all that up.
Eighteen years ago, there was a post on a stock portal with the headline “In the East, there are houses for 1000 euros.”
Oh, what nonsense they all wrote there. Doesn’t work, can’t be, crazy, just like here. However, I reacted immediately.
The next day, illegally inspected, that was on a Thursday. Monday at the notary and bought.
And yes, there were houses for 1000 euros back then. And before stupid comments come again right away: It was a large property with a detached single-family house in an idyllic location. And no, not a prime city location.
