So the installation in the rest of the house cost extra. That was not included in the €2,500 for the meter. Is that what you mean?

The worst thing about my electrician was that there were live unprotected wires, the RCD tripped at more than 100W load intermittently, drilled into the climate membrane ("doesn't matter, we always do it this way"), forgot to connect an outdoor socket (only noticed last weekend), forgot numerous agreements, placed sockets at different heights in the same room, etc. There are certainly more points that don't come to mind immediately.

Of course, he was also late and didn't clean up his own mess anyway, but with that price, you really have to expect that in advance. The points above are actually an absolute no-go regardless of the price.

What do you expect? Flawless craftsmanship with master expertise for hardly any money? It should also be clear that hardly anyone can be found for the do-it-yourself tinkering. Who wants to take the blame for you? That is done at most by people from your circle of acquaintances or botchers for hardly any money, who later in no case can be held accountable if something should go wrong. Fun costs, after all! Interestingly, such customer behavior is found almost exclusively in [Elektrik]. Programming – count me in. Especially because at the beginning it can hardly ever be fully formulated in about 0% of the cases and the systems grow and change over time. But not in areas where a large number of standards have to be met and where you can make a lot of mistakes.

I once saw a show where exactly that was offered. So there, a master electrician came up with the concept. You basically do everything yourself and he only comes at the end to check everything and make the house connection. So what he would have to do anyway. That way he saves one or two journeymen and still charges his master’s fee and materials. Unfortunately, I forgot what it’s called. But something like [Elektrik Selbstmach Paket] or something like that. You can try the big search engine...

Yes, I know that all too well. For trades like plastering/facade or heating, it doesn't really matter what it costs, it is usually always accepted. Only the electrical work must cost nothing.

Hi, this is how things are running with us (planned so far): We source part of the material as well as the installation of the main and sub-distributions from the electrician. Our own work mainly consists of laying cables (power, LAN, SAT) and connecting them ourselves in the outlets. Smarthome wiring and programming are completely done by ourselves except for the power to the UV. The electrician would have taken the job if he had to do everything, but he did not accept it due to a lack of workforce. However, we have already worked with him elsewhere and already know the employee who is doing the main work for us and appreciate him for his very professional and clean work. The HV and UV are not "bargains", but fit quite well in the overall package.

With our type of wiring ("our" system), fortunately, you can't do much wrong. We don't wire classically. Every consumer is directly wired to the UV, there are no switches but only buttons to which signal cables (CAT7a) lead (again directly to the UV), etc.

Hello, so for us it was only possible through Vitamin B back then. My brother is a trained electrician, installed and connected everything, and in the end the friendly master electrician with his own company came and signed off. But that was an absolute exception, he is also liable for the trade, even though he cannot know how neatly my brother worked. Personally, I wouldn't know if I would do something like that as a company. Probably not.
