Unfortunately, I have no practical experience to report, as I have never had such a case.

The amount of [Pflegegeld] certainly has a reason. You don't just get that much money for a child. Either there are several (3-4?) or it is justified accordingly (disability or similar).

In this respect, [Pflegegeld] is similar to [Kindergeld] in that it is "earmarked." It is also limited in time.

If [Pflegegeld] includes a portion for "housing," this part should also be fairly credited. For disabled foster children, for example, it is also possible that the corresponding construction planning and execution have to be paid. I see this part as justified.

Whether practice sees it exactly this way... idk.

Just by the way, in case you're interested. Finances have been settled. We have included the shift allowance in the financing and left out the care allowance. Thus, we are creditworthy for 460 thousand. But we would only want 400 thousand. At 460 thousand, with 2% repayment and no equity, the rate for us would be 1300€. If we include that from the children, we would be at 520 thousand for 1700€ to start. Which does not suit us. Then, with all additional costs, we would end up with the same monthly burden as in our current house. We are now supposed to look for land. This will then be financed already and he will take care of the sale of the old property with us. Then construction will begin.

Thank you. Now a plot of land has to be found first. They are scarce here.
