CO2 pricing: This must first come as planned. Given the current poll results, I can’t imagine it, or at the latest it will be obsolete again by 2029.

Regarding LLWP in old buildings, I wouldn’t be so skeptical; it’s just uncommon in Germany and may be perceived as not very cozy. It does work, and under the circumstances it is the cheapest to implement.

With the Schrag burners, you can heat a whole house with 1000-1500 liters of heating oil per year. I manage with a wood stove at 600 liters per year. The simplest LLWP are split air conditioning systems, and that means for every heated room an indoor and an outdoor unit. A central system becomes expensive again.

In a relationship, often only one person has a realistic overview of the finances (keyword: division of tasks). Therefore, with such large investments, deviations between desires and reality can easily occur. I know enough people who moved with their old furniture and only renewed everything gradually afterwards.

I've been through it this year, so Schrag on LWWP. The shafts end at the interior walls; we have placed radiators on the exterior walls. Since the shafts exit at the ceiling, it's not so easy hydraulically to install new water pipes here, regardless of whether it involves radiators or underfloor heating. However, the shafts were very useful for a new electrical installation.

I have always seen hot water at Schrag only decentralized; we renewed everything but also kept it decentralized because these are rental apartments and we don't want to run the LWWP in summer for hot water. The carpenter installed shelves inside the enclosure of the burner.
