Hi, Working from home is not an option. Large company with manufacturing. I am surprised that with a net income of about €5,000, a rate of €1,250 plus additional costs plus fuel (€500) is considered solid here. When browsing, I have certainly read other opinions in these dimensions. Ultimately, it is still about 40% of the net income that goes into these three items per month. Especially since the repayment, as it is calculated now, runs for about 35 years. Then I would be 70 years old, not a good feeling, even if special repayments are certainly possible and/or the KfW repayment subsidy still comes.
As I said, I do not see it as solid. While one part is the financial aspect (car, fuel, etc.), the other is really the time and the nerves. Those who do not know commuting and then put up with it because of the property... We also moved away, but it was clear that only I would commute and my wife would stay on site. But I have always been a commuter. You have to "like" that.
