Hello everyone,
I want to enclose my property, which so far has either not been enclosed or only enclosed on one side, now with a wall. The development plan prescribes customary local enclosures. In the residential area in question, there are therefore examples of everything from hedges to fences to walls. Nevertheless, I would cautiously inquire with the city about what would be possible.
A neighboring property is enclosed with a fence, which, according to the family of the previous owner, stands on our property with at least oral permission. Ultimately, I don't care about that; it’s not worth the trouble for a few square meters. My problem is rather the design, which I consider quite dangerous for our young children. (curved wrought iron fence with spikes pointing upward, between 180 and 80 cm in height) In the end, I don’t care about that either if I can secure it on my side according to my taste. And in the worst case, there will be a permit or approval anyway.
The idea is to build the wall here as well. It would be clearly on my property and set back with some distance. Am I allowed to build a wall here, about 150 cm high? It’s no longer a boundary fence, as that already exists.
I currently don’t have another idea. I don’t really understand the neighbor law of SH in this matter.
