Exactly my opinion, chain-link fence to the neighbor, but directly on the correct boundary. The neighbor can dismantle his wrought iron work beforehand. You don't like it that much anyway, since you want to put something in front of it. Is that your fence side to be built (in Berlin the right property side)

Good question. In SH it says roughly… "whoever erects a building must enclose it." I'll google that right away. Can you just demand that if the previous owner gave permission? Apart from that, it really isn’t that much area. And I’m not in the mood for these stressful topics. If he ever gets difficult, it can still be done later. But it doesn’t have to be.

As fate would have it, I’m just passing by the property and see that the fence has been altered. A horizontal bar has been screwed on at the top, about 180cm high. The originally pretty fence is now quite… ugly. Unfortunately, it hasn’t become any safer either, now there’s a pull-up bar.
