I do not share the view that, thank God, building plans prevent the worst tastelessness: in my experience, those precisely slip through all filters.

After more than 30 years, the other houses should be sufficiently dingy white, so that a bright white one in between would really stand out?

I also know houses where a container in front fits *SCNR*
No, seriously: that looks quite nice.

We have a very colorful painting company here. Just google "Franz Rebl Maler". He has already fought quite a few lawsuits.

Speaking of Bavaria and not run-of-the-mill painters: are there still Lüftlmaler businesses? - something like that could still interest me ...

Yes, for example in Oberammergau, you can still find Lüftlemaler.

We are getting a wooden facade in natural larch and thus a facade that will change its look over the years. Admittedly, the decisive factor was our laziness. We didn't want to be forced in our lives to have to repaint the facade again, so we let it weather. Of course, we also like it and it suits a wooden house.

Otherwise, I am also against overly restrictive development plans. Everyone should do as they wish. I can also easily swallow it when there's something I personally find awful. Anything is better than uniformity.
For example, in the settlement, we have a house that the owner painted in light lilac with some darker lilac accents. The originally rather rustic balcony is painted in this darker lilac, for example. Personally, it makes my toenails curl every time because I find the color(s) terrible and in combination with the type of house downright brutal... But well... It also has advantages: when giving directions, you just say "100 meters past the Milka house, then turn left"
Everyone finds that!

The idea of natural larch, like a kind of silver-gray, I find good. Larch is simply pretty when weathered. It has something honest, patina, non-lacquered.
B Plan. The B Plan shall ensure that building is done in a way that peace is maintained in the area. For this purpose, it sets ridge heights, building envelopes, floor area ratios, etc. Design-wise it has to be liberal. What I like, you may not like, but everyone has to tolerate the other. A purple facade neither takes away my sun nor violates building boundaries. So what. Our building area knows wood and stone, plaster, clinker, yellow, white, red, turquoise, gray, blood red, anthracite and colorful yellow.....anything goes.

And in this sense, it seems to me that it does no harm, where there is a development plan (and de jure no §34 is involved), to "morally" carry an obligation to fit in at heart. Freedom of taste does not need to escalate into punk (in the sense of provocation for its own sake, or as a middle finger to an "establishment").
