Hello,
so I need to renovate a house wall. It is the weather-exposed side and the plaster has fine cracks, some plaster is already coming off, especially around the roller shutter box (2 different materials after all). In a ventilated cladding with rhombus slats, I see the most affordable option. I also have fiber cement panels in mind (honestly, I like them better and they look easier to install) but they are very expensive. The area would be about 60m² here, excluding 3 windows and a patio door.
I want to clad the house wall now with planed, natural color, Siberian larch rhombus slats.
Since I will leave a joint width of 8-10mm, I have to protect the wall behind from driving rain.
For this, I wanted to staple a diffusion-open foil to the house wall. This will then also be held by the carrier battens.
Can this be done like this or will there be moisture problems?
So the structure would be
- diffusion-open foil
- carrier battens
- rhombus slats
Thanks and regards
Jörg
