sorry I love my Ossis, really now. But sometimes they go through the wall. Another OFFTOPIC topic. An 89-year-old family member was ordered directly from the family doctor to the hospital. He left a note: bin im KH XYZ. Daughter, who is known to the family doctor, received no information from either the doctor’s assistant or the hospital about what was going on, why he was admitted, and immediately drove 100 km from work there.

What did my father-in-law say yesterday: It’s still like it was back then with us. They didn’t even reveal the gender in the first hours after birth. All Stasi influenced and jealous people everywhere.

I found that likeable!

Anyway, I think it’s good that you have found a solution

Hello,

I'm bringing the thread back up again:

The terrace was completed for the house construction company on 14.07.2016. We then pointed out various defects to them:
- incorrect laying - random pattern was not followed
- slabs have sunk
- slabs were not laid under the terrace door
- height offset of terrace slab to terrace door of about 2cm
- no round cutout at the downpipe (was cut square).

After lengthy discussions and several rescheduled appointments, the terrace was relaid about 4 weeks ago. The slabs were lifted, the ground was filled and compacted.
Before the relaying, we repeatedly pointed out the mentioned defects. According to the site manager in coordination with the landscaping company, all defects were to be corrected.

The following defects were eliminated:
- random pattern was laid
- slabs have one level - in my opinion, 3 pieces are now sinking slightly...

All other defects were not remedied, the slab to be cut out has been lying next to the downpipe since then.

I am considering consulting a lawyer but have the following question beforehand:
According to the site manager, there is no "construction instruction" that the terrace slabs must be flush with the terrace door, meaning the terrace slab should "rest" directly under the door.

He also claimed that the slabs cannot be laid up to under the door. Our neighbors, who only have stones, have their stones laid up to under the terrace door and even flush so that no dirt can get underneath.

Thank you very much for the help

In my opinion, a drainage channel (Aco etc.) including drainage belongs outside the door. This also ensures the necessary construction height up to the sealing according to DIN 18195.

I would also install a channel there.

Sorry, but I don't see anything wrong in the photo. Everything looks fine to me. Why a gutter? A terrace always has a slight slope away from the house. This is how a technically flawless terrace looks here from the garden landscaper. Beneath the stones, at the house and in front of the plant pots, there is drainage pipe, the terrace slopes, a step with a small threshold at the door, so water definitely never gets into the house.
