Experience with natural stone tiles (travertine, slate)

Hello,
we looked at natural stone tiles in an exhibition yesterday and were totally impressed.
We especially liked travertine tiles in beige/brown laid in a Roman pattern.
Then slate Peacock Multicolor and finely split slate "Mustang."
Does anyone perhaps have experience with natural stone tiles?
So far, most opinions I have read are positive. After impregnating, all floors are said to be low-maintenance and resistant.
Maybe someone here has experience with them and can tell me something...

I just wrote a similar post about marble flooring. Please take a look, I can't link via Tapatalk. About the taste: very specific, for me it fits in a modernized farmhouse cottage, ... To combine old and new, I also prefer modern substance, like flooring, with old wardrobe or dresser rather than the other way around. Otherwise: if you can afford natural stone, then it should be it.

Lile08 what has it become? I myself also wanted to lay natural stone slabs in the garden. Near Recklinghausen, there is a pretty good "manufacturer" of natural stones, if you can call it that. I had the feeling they advised me according to my ideas and not according to their profit. If you know what I mean.

It became Peacock Slate, in the living room, kitchen, hallway, and bathroom. It looks stunning. I still have to wait and see how the cleaning and maintenance go, we are just moving in now.
