Expensive fly screen failed on the cat - is that a defect?

Nothing stops you from using the fly screen in the office/gaming room – you just have to lock the bug away.

Yeah, those are the things where the insects got fried, right? Those were the only ones that effectively destroyed insects... probably no longer allowed due to animal protection

The problem is that the cats are mostly outside hunting, but they don't go very far from the house. When we have a window open in the office, they try to come inside there and claw at the screen from the outside.

What now, I have to tolerate that I am no longer allowed to open windows and I have to tolerate that they destroy my things? Hmm, it's a cat running around outside. I don't know who it belongs to. So not a neighbor around here. I guess I really have to call animal welfare. I don't care that it lies on my furniture and digs in my flowers, but it actually breaks into the house. I can't leave any window open, not even upstairs. Even tilted windows don't stop it. It probably really wants to get away from its actual home.

I just looked it up. If I can prove that it was the cat, there is indeed a claim for damages. Before this is misunderstood, I like cats. I have a tomcat myself. I also like the cat that runs around in the garden, I just don't like that it breaks into my place and, by the way, also other neighbors'. Whether I open the front door or the patio door, the cat pushes its way through. Even windows upstairs that are tilted are no obstacle. Twice it has already pushed through the fly screen. That really annoys me.

No... lol... she doesn't want to get away from anywhere, she wants to be with you.
We had that once too. A persistent visitor cat who at night did a split between half-closed shutters and a tilted window to get in at all costs. We then rescued her from her predicament, around 4 in the morning, and let her in. The exhausted animal then ate first and then lay down with us. That's how it is with cats: they choose you :p

Yes, of course that is normal. Brutal cats break everything. Even the 7,000€ Rolf Benz sofa actually gets scratches when the cat extends its claws – no complaint helps, no matter how high-quality the material is.
