Hello everyone,
I built a single-family house with a developer, and according to the construction contract, I bear the electricity costs for the construction of the house. After about 9 months of construction, an astonishing 25,000 kWh were consumed. This corresponds to about €8,000 in electricity costs. In my opinion, the main electricity drivers were the heating program for the screed as well as various fan heaters/drying devices that were in the house for some time.
I wanted the general contractor to cover part (€4,000) of the electricity costs, but unfortunately, he is not willing to negotiate and refers to the contract. My logical explanation would be that as a layperson, I can assume there will be a usual electricity consumption or electricity costs that average between €2,500 and €3,500 for a single-family house (depending on the season and other factors).
Does anyone have similar experience or a suggestion on how to involve the general contractor (50%)?
Thanks in advance!
