Hello everyone,

my parents' house (both 63 years old) should become smarter. Unfortunately, they renovated the house just 3 years ago and at that time did not think about preparing for smart home.

They only got interested since they received an Echo Plus with 2 Philips Hue bulbs.

Here is the current situation:

. Single-family house 160 sqm,
- underfloor heating in all rooms
- electric shutters in all rooms
- Amazon Echo Plus and 2 Philips E27 bulbs available

Goal:

- to control the underfloor heating intelligently via app and wall thermostat (voice control via Alexa is not a must, as I don’t consider underfloor heating suitable for quickly changing the temperature.)
- to control the lighting in the living/dining room, ground floor hallway, 3 bedrooms and upper floor hallway via Alexa voice control
- to control the shutters on the ground floor via app and preferably also program with presets (e.g. vacation scenario)

It can be said in conclusion that no further components should be added.

As cheap as possible, as expensive as necessary.

Thank you in advance

Regards

Somfy also offers retrofit options in connection with the [tahoma Box] to convert existing electric roller shutters to radio control and, for example, control scenarios in connection with the [TaHoma Box]. Somfy can also be partially operated with Alexa.

For the heating, a NEST, for the lighting even more Hue. With the blinds, you have to see what is installed there.

Thank you for the answers.

If I understood that correctly, can I then buy a Nest Thermostat for every room I want to control?

It's just a suggestion. There are many more smart thermostats.

These include:

- tado
- elgato
- eqiva
- netatmo

and so on. There is really enough selection. The NEST is unbeatable in terms of design and operating concept, which is why I suggested it.

If my daughter ever hatches such plans for us, I will disinherit her.
