It is important to us to have a stable running system.
It certainly does not have to be absolutely fancy and "decide by itself" whether the light should be on or off.
We can quite well do that ourselves
That quite well describes how KNX works. Absolutely stable and reliable. As fancy as you want it and as much self-determination as desired.
It ranges from completely manual to fully automatic. To what extent you allow automation is always up to the resident and can also be changed at any time.
just a good control for the 13 roller shutters
Yes, but what is a "good control"?
for that it would also be enough for us if we can control it uniformly from the hallway but also program it (variable time depending on month / sun position adjustable by me).
For this, separation relays and an astronomical time switch are enough. You don’t need a "good control" for that, however, the effort is rather higher than KNX and it may even be more expensive.
I’m almost sure that KNX would be like using a cannon to kill a sparrow there.
KNX is very well doseable and thus you get as much functionality as you need. But the big advantage is that it is always very quickly changeable or expandable. Which you cannot say about conventional electrical systems or manufacturer-specific controls or many of the so-called "smart home systems."
Originally we also wanted to include lighting in the "smart home support." But since Philips has now been offering the Hue bulbs for a few weeks, which can be controlled individually up to 10 pieces directly without an intermediate device / "router" via Bluetooth, that is completely sufficient for our two rooms (bathroom and kitchen), in which we just want to change color, Kelvin, or brightness once in a while.
Smart is when everything in the house works together. You apparently don’t need that. However, for the Hue bulbs you then again need either Friends of Hue switches or you repeatedly have to reach for the phone and are more or less again dependent on Philips. I wouldn’t want that.
Does an SPS roller shutter control actually already count as "smart home"?
Does a motor count as a finished car?
