Everyone still goes to the building authority, and the neighbors also sign the [Genehmigungsfreisteller]. That means they know the planning. Mine diligently took photos of the submission plan when signing. Of course, I did too. As a new neighbor, builder, and layperson, you can’t really grasp such a submission plan immediately at signing, plus reality might look different after the excavator has been there, or the garage is shifted by 30cm and falls short of the 3m by 5cm. That’s not unusual. The submission plans of both my neighbors don’t match reality (mostly the height of the building). But live and let live. Everyone has a lot of debt, so let them do it as long as it doesn’t bother anyone.
