Evaporation ponds on property - How to construct? What to consider?

I would talk to the authorities to see if an alternative like a cistern or something is allowed…

Sometimes you can understand the frustration of some government employees. You write evaporation basins into the development plan and 100 people call asking if a cistern would also be okay... or a soakaway...

Presumably, infiltration is poor in your construction area and it rains relatively a lot during the year?

Such a 19m² basin with 1m depth stores 19m³... you first have to be able to dig in such a cistern, and that doesn't come cheap either...

If you have space for a 19m2 pond, you can also fit a 19m2 cistern. Usually, too little water flows into the sewer. Therefore, retention cisterns are used to slowly release heavy rainwater, and the remaining water stays usable. And securing such tanks must also be ensured. I’m just imagining an entire area with ponds that are not filtered… The mosquitoes would be happy.

Write sensible things in the development plan, then there will be fewer stupid questions. Infiltration can still be understood. It relieves the sewage system and helps the groundwater. But evaporation? Poor infiltration is certainly not a problem with sandy soil. And any kind of ponds are a first-class trap for animals... or small children...

I tried to do a bit of research and it seems that fire water ponds are actually more often declared as evaporation basins. And partly natural ponds are included in the compensation measures. Partly an infiltration and evaporation basin. But I have not quickly found a reasonable justification anywhere for evaporation as the main purpose, except that you don’t want to lead water into the sewer. You could also infiltrate that. But mandating a pond of 30-40sqm on every property? That is rather an example of excessive bureaucracy and fits into the very real madness.

is the development plan available on the Internet? If yes, can you please name it (without link)

Hello! Thank you for your answers and for thinking along! Great forum!

We would love to have a cistern :)

The development plan should be found under "Braderup B-14 (Goldland).

The problem with infiltration is the high groundwater level; otherwise, not much is included. I would consider taking one of the properties without the evaporation pond at that point.
