Yes, of course. You can reach the apartment door without a ladder

Thank you for your comments.

I will ask the developer quite plainly whether the high price is a mistake or how it comes about. Otherwise, I will probably have to bite the bullet.

I have generally found the developer’s prices quite fair so far, which is why this hefty surcharge surprises me.

You can get data about the burglary rate in the micro-location at the next police station. The classic burglary gangs need a good escape route location and preferably a highway reachable within a few minutes. Opportunistic thieves usually don’t bother much to overcome a floor, and so do procurement criminals. Professionals carefully choose their targets; do you fit the loot profile and look like you have a lot of money, jewelry, art, antiques? Always keep things in perspective. Security technology is a huge business, sold through the imagination and fear of interested parties.

I guess I don’t look like I have a lot of money/jewelry/art. More like the “average middle-class citizen.” I drive a simple Polo and otherwise there’s nothing extravagant. But the apartment already looks like it’s of a higher standard. The highway (even the interchange) is relatively easy to reach from the apartment, about 5 minutes away. But I suppose even RC2 wouldn’t stop professional gangs anyway?

For occasional thieves and petty criminals, the ground floor or at most the 1st floor is more attractive, right? Especially since I saw at the neighboring buildings that not even RC1 was apparently installed on the ground floor (= no security striker plates).

Is there actually a way to change / revoke a rating? I just accidentally tapped the wrong spot on my phone and suddenly my own thread only had two stars.

I have managed a window factory before, but never a professional gang. As far as I dare to assess how the latter work, I would say: they mostly enter the upper floors through the apartment doors. Your best protection there are resolute and curious neighbors who immediately unleash the pit bull if the guy in front of your apartment door isn’t your lover or the Zalando delivery man, and who write down all foreign license plates. I have never met anyone here who pays attention to these little stars. Nobody but you can see them, they probably come from Bielefeld.
