How high is the burglary rate in the region? At our previous place of residence, a bit more security would be advisable. Elsewhere, the probability of burglary is low. Also check with the insurance whether this affects the premium. Security and the feeling of security are two completely different things and both must be taken seriously. There are people who are afraid in a dark forest and feel comfortable in an Ultra fan section. That's so much for the feeling of security. Unfortunately, insecurity increases with growing objective security. One gets used to a standard.

rick2018: It's not a motor lock, just two additional self-locking bolts at the top and bottom of the door. For that, 1,345 euros is quite a lot of money, isn't it?
hampshire: The apartment is located right in the Ruhr area. In that respect, I would assume the pressure of break-ins is rather high, right?

Then it is sporty if it is only the surcharge for the locking.

What would you consider more appropriate there? Just to have a rough idea.

It also always depends on the system and the door. And since a developer is involved, you will probably have to bite the bullet if you want that. Felt like a maximum of €500 net for the other/additional locking.

Yes, around €500 for an automatic lock is realistic.
