Hello everyone,
we are currently having a house built by a developer and I am currently pondering the garage. According to the site plan, a 9m garage is allowed up to the house boundary. However, since a floor-to-ceiling additional window was installed on the ground floor, now only a 6m long garage can be placed without covering the window. No problem, I thought: just move the garage into the garden. However, the city does not allow this because it has to blend into the appearance
After a long discussion with the planning consultant, I simply had the idea to extend my 6x3m garage with a 3x3m tool shed. I would then leave the back wall of the garage open and thus have more space for parking. The consultant was not that enthusiastic, but that would be allowed :)
The alternative idea would be to build a kind of 3x3m canopy in front of the garage with a wall towards the neighbor (see picture). But not made of wood. However, that would darken the floor-to-ceiling window quite a bit. But it could also look nice. If I then leave the garage door open, another vehicle would partially also have a roof over its head.
I have attached the floor plan and hope for other ideas from you.
