Hello,

my neighbor built this "beautiful" garden wall for me in our lovely garden on his property.

Do you have any tips on how I could beautify it without drilling into it?

Gravel is already running out from the foundation below, and the filter stones are already lying on my property!

The space between the wall and my flower bed belongs to me, and I could drive in sleeve anchors like the ones shown in one of the pictures.

Thank you in advance for your tips.

Google for "Gartenmauersteine", you can lay them directly in front of its wall.

Or maybe a trellis in front of it so that it can grow beautifully green in front of the wall.

I personally see no point in putting a wall in front of a wall. I (together with my neighbor) also put up such a wall. Admittedly, it looks significantly better, but my neighbor just painted it. That’s okay for him.
My side is not finished yet and will in the end only stick out about 20-30 from the ground. Either I will attach cladding or just paint it as well.
If you don’t want or aren’t allowed to attach cladding (although I’m not sure if your neighbor is allowed to forbid you that), then I would set up wooden partition walls. Put a few climbing plants on them and that’s it.
It’s certainly not what you once imagined, but something has to be done there.

What I don’t understand is, why is the foundation, or rather the old wall, hollow on your side?

Hello, thank you for the answers.

I also don’t understand the foundation part, it’s not even frost-deep.
It is not an old wall either. Here, three foundations which are not connected to each other were poured on gravel. The foundation extends about 1 meter inward onto the neighbor’s property.
However, the wall stones are firmly connected over the three foundations.

I don’t see the point in cladding it because I believe the wall will crack at some point. I also can’t plaster the foundation.
And then I still have the cavity right at the front.

I was thinking of a wooden privacy screen in front of the wall, but I don’t know if that will hold?
I don’t want to lose too much space.

Double rod panel fence in the most affordable version and insert plastic roller material into the individual levels - depending on color preference... That would be my favorite - no painting, assembly effort, price, durability...

The fence elements are available depending on the manufacturer in 2 - 2.5 meter lengths. Height always in 20 cm increments...

Above all, you can take the elements apart again as soon as the wall is broken - since it does not look very durable now
