Hello,
we are about to start construction.
Our plot is located directly on a hilltop and slopes from northeast to south and west, with the access, as shown in the attachment, coming from the west.
Already in the initial planning, we had to somewhat "dig into" the house, i.e., we excavated at the back and built up at the front. Unfortunately, the slope of the driveway was 20%, which was clearly too steep for us.
We then specified 7% as the maximum slope for the driveway. Now we are "digging in" even more. Unfortunately, our construction company had no other ideas.
Therefore, my questions to the forum:
1. Are there any other reasonable options to position the house (garage and house cannot be legally separated, as part of the garage is an attachment)?
2. Does it make sense to level the rest of the garden as well?
3. What should be considered in garden design (water drainage, risk of falling at the edge of the property)?
We would be very grateful for a few helpful tips!
Best regards
Christian
