Hello everyone,

today the electrician drilled/slotted the socket holes and slots upstairs. In the children's room, there should be a socket on the partition wall from both sides - he has now drilled so that they are exactly opposite each other and there is a more or less large hole in the wall...
My immediate reaction was a shocked face. It is a 115 KS hollow brick wall. I am a bit afraid that the soundproofing is now completely ruined. Should I tell him to close one side again and drill again about a meter further along, or is it not as serious as I fear?

Thanks for your input!

An 11.5 cm sand-lime brick wall and soundproofing? Haha, already too late.

PS: We also have 11.5 sand-lime brick and that is not sufficient anyway for a children's room if it is supposed to be proper.

Of course, the 115 wall is not the pinnacle of soundproofing - but after all, we are family. If one listens to music quietly or talks, the other doesn’t have to overhear everything. That’s why I’m a bit concerned about the hole in the wall.

It would be better if all the sockets are not directly opposite each other, but does that really make a big difference now? He has to plaster anyway, and with that he won't reach the level of the original KS wall.

How is the power supply supposed to work? Separate on both sides or does he supply one socket through the socket on the other side? *thinking*

Assume that the reason why he did it that way is - only one side slots for cables. In the office and guest room, however, he simply offset the outlet holes, then slotted horizontally and then drilled a small hole. I don't really think it's great either, but still better than the "big" hole. Otherwise, it looks okay - always the shortest cable routes, only vertical, etc.

Where will the cables be laid when you talk about chasing... Hopefully on the floor and then only up to the box. Or horizontally in the wall?
